Cologne – an interesting marathon destination for runners from abroad

Bild zum Artikel: Cologne – an interesting marathon destination for runners from abroad

Dear journalists,

Germany’s marathon #4, the RheinEnergieMarathon Cologne, will take place on October 1, 2017.

Last year we celebrated the race’s 20th anniversary with a big party and increasing participant numbers, particularly for the marathon distance.

Despite general forecasts of declining demand after an anniversary we are on the way of even better participation figures in 2017 than in the anniversary year. This tendency let us hope for more.
To introduce our event and also our city to you please find detailed information here:

Feel free to use the material for your broadcasts and articles.

RheinEnergieMarathon Cologne

The finish line next to Cologne Cathedral, a course leading through numerous famous city quarters, the city’s cultural diversity and its carnivalistic atmosphere with hundreds of thousands of spectators along the course make the RheinEnergieMarathon Cologne to one of most outstanding marathons in the world.

In 2006 the half marathon distance was added to the portfolio and since then has developed to Germany’s #2.

Further, the relay marathon where four runners share the 42k is offered.
Therefore, it does not have to be a full marathon to enjoy the special atmosphere in Cologne.

Professional and amateur runners, sportive ambitions and “Rhenanian cheerfulness”, functional clothings and carnival costumes are the ingredients for a perfect day on October 1, 2017 in Cologne.
Your Cologne. Your aim.
