Confirmation of participation containing QR code
Please bring along your confirmation of participation containing the QR code to pick up your race packet – it does not matter whether it is printed or in one of the two digital versions (Apple Wallet or mobile version).
You will need this document to get your bib number, if necessary the rental chip and your kit bag at the Running.EXPO in LANXESS arena.

Track yourself with our Cologne Marathon app
Download our Cologne Marathon app free of charge (available in the Apple and Google Play stores).
The “Track My Race” feature will combine the GPS data from your smart phone with the times measured by Mika:timing and your position will be shown on a map.
By projecting your average pace your predicted finish time will also be displayed. You thus may track yourself in real time in which section of the course to Cologne Cathedral you are.
The app further offers cool features for you as a participant as well as for spectators. It is worth having a look into it!

Provide your friends with updates via Facebook Timing Ticker
Have you already subscribed to our Facebook Timing Ticker free of charge to provide your friends and fans with status updates from the race on your Facebook wall?
We will post your split times onto your wall as soon as you pass the chronometry mats along the course. Thus, your friends – along the course or at home – may follow you when and where you are.
Projections for running times and times of day for points along the course and your predicted finish time, hints for relevant KVB stations along the course etc. are only some cool features that make it easy for your fans to meet up with you along the course and cheer for you!

Post your pics and selfies onto the # social wall and win attractive prices
Smart phones are omnipresent at running events! The devices are used for tracking, meeting up with friends after the race – or for the fast photo prior to the start or holding the well-deserved medal in the finish!
With our # social wall we offer the possibility to share your pictures with other runners and spectators! Post them onto our Facebook event page or on Instagram and twitter with our hashtag #koelnmarathon .
Thus, your snapshots and videos in front of the selfie wall at the expo, presenting your bib number, in front of the start arch, in the finish, in the refreshment area, at the after run party or the graphics of your certificate or your new 2018 bib number will appear on our # social wall on our web site, in the app, on the video screens along the course …
And after the race we will award the best posts!
Stay up-to-date with Facebook and/or Instagram
Year-round, but in particular prior to and on race day we post things worth knowing for the race, diverse hints, and raffle attractive prices and so on!
Statistically, almost every participant follows us on Facebook. We opened our new Instagram account last year.

SPECTATORS
Follow your runner with our Cologne Marathon app
We have our own Cologne Marathon app this year.
This app is the perfect guide for you as spectator along the course or at home and has several interesting features:
- You may tag your runner and also other favourite runners in the “Track My Favourites” function to follow their positions in real time during the race, in particular when your runner uses GPS.
- The “Leaderboard” lists all participants at chronometry points as soon as they pass the corresponding timing mats. Projections indicate possible times for the expected finish.
- The “Live stream” button leads you directly to our internet live stream of the race.
- Via “Spectator info” you may get further information about hot spots along the course, travelling to these spots, add-ons for the course map and the meeting point after the race.
- The “Facebook” and “Instagram” profiles can be navigated by the corresponding buttons.
- On the “Social wall” all posts of runners and spectators via our Facebook event page, Instagram and twitter containing the #koelnmarathon will be listed.
Watch the live stream in the app or on the web site
On race day we will offer an internet live stream from 8:25 a. m. to 1:45 p. m. on our web site.

Track your runner on Facebook via Timing Ticker
Motivate your runner to register for our Facebook Timing Ticker service free of charge via the starters’ list.
As soon as she/he will cross a timing mat, the app (i. e. we) will post it together with the split times as status updates onto her/his Facebook wall.
Thus, she/he may keep you and other friends and fans updated digitally and you may track her/him to get to know when she/he will be when and where.
Chronometry mats will be placed at for the marathon at the start as well as at kilometres 5; 10; 15; 21.0975; 25; 30; 35; 40 and in the finish – for half marathon at the start as well as downtown (kilometre 3.7), at kilometre 10, in Ehrenfeld (kilometre 13.4), at Rudolfplatz (kilometre 18.9) and in the finish.
Post pics and videos from your runners onto the # social wall and win
In case you would like to share your pictures and videos from your runner with your friends and other participants in social networks like Facebook, twitter or Instagram please follow these instructions:
You just have to publish your messages at the right place or add the right supplement – and we may present your most beautiful moments, impressions from race day together with other posts at our # social wall. It combines messages of these networks about our race.
Facebook: Please publish your post at our Facebook event page instead of on your private wall. And we will bring it onto the social wall.
twitter and Instagram: Just add our hashtag #koelnmarathon to your tweets and Instagram posts and they will directly go onto our # social wall.
After the race we will award the best posts!
