What is new at this year’s RheinEnergieMarathon Cologne?

On October 1, 2017 the RheinEnergieMarathon Cologne will celebrate its 21st edition including a marathon, a half marathon and a team relay competition.
Once more, the runners from all over the world may enjoy the emotional finish at Cologne Cathedral, the city’s landmark.
A further improved and faster course will lead through numerous attractive city quarters. And the city’s cultural diversity and its carnivalistic atmosphere with thousands of spectators in the streets are unique: This is what Cologne is famous for.
Prior the race every participant will get a fancy high-quality kit bag rucksack on the Running.EXPO, and an exclusive Reissdorf “Kölsch” beer glass. “Kölsch” is the famous beer that is only brewed within the city boundaries of Cologne: a very special souvenir to remember the Cologne Marathon.
After the finish line the runners will get a well-deserved reward for their athletic performances in the refreshment area that has an outstanding reputation in the German marathon scene and beyond. This refreshment area even needs its own menu to list all the snacks and drinks. No wishes are left unfulfilled.
